How to test the app on an unpublished (draft) theme?

This doc is a guide on how you can set-up and test the funnels/offers created through Monk on an unpublished (draft) theme without it interfering with your live website and live visitors. Once you've added Monk to your Shopify store, set-up your first funnel and click on Save & Activate. Then follow these steps:

From your Shopify admin, Go to Online Store —> Themes

Duplicate the existing theme

Click on the three-dot menu —> Duplicate

Note: A copy of your theme will be added to your Theme Library

Disable Monk on your live theme

To disable Monk on your main theme, click on Customize which will take you to your Theme Editor

On the left hand side of your screen —> App Embeds —> Disable Monk

Click on the Save button on the right hand side of your screen.

Enable Monk on your draft theme

To enable Monk on your draft theme, Click on Customize beside the copy of your theme under Theme Library, which will take you to your Theme Editor.

On the left hand side of your screen —> App Embeds —> Enable Monk

Click on the Save button on the right hand side of your screen.

Testing an offer on your draft theme

To view the offer set up on your draft theme, from your Shopify admin, Go to Online Store —> Themes
Click on the three-dot menu beside the copy of your draft theme —> Preview

This will take you to the Shopify preview of your draft theme, allowing you to navigate to the relevant page or products to test out your offer

Important point to note:

In Monk app's "Funnels & Analytics' tab , the app status will show as 'App is disabled'. This is because the app dashboard reflects the app status only of the live theme, not of any of the draft themes.
